DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY
Our department of Human Physiology was established in the year 2006-07 as a preclinical department in Hassan Institute of Medical sciences, Hassan.
Imparting knowledge to lay a strong foundation for learning medicine and quality medical research is the subject, Human Physiology.
The Teaching Staff undertake teaching programmes for Undergraduate, Postgraduate (MD Courses) as well as Nursing course and Paramedical and Allied Courses. Overall results of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate examinations have been good over the years.
Department undertake academic activities for the benefit of Postgraduates, Seminars and Clinical discussions .Our objective is in understanding physiological mechanisms to carry out evidence based innovative teaching and quality scientific research thereby contributing to human welfare.
The department has pioneered the use of Audio-Visual teaching aids for promoting student learning. All the teaching facilities in the Department are equipped with projectors for use by the faculty and students. Power point presentations of lecture classes are made available for the students if required.

It has lecture hall-1 situated on the same floor, with a capacity of seating 150 students. The department is well-designed with an excellent infrastructure which includes well-equipped laboratories for Haematology, Clinical, and Human Physiology as well as Amphibian, Mammalian physiology and Research lab with latest computerized Lung function testing and heart rate variability equipment for research. Each laboratory has the capacity to accommodate 85 students. Department also has a demonstration room with a seating capacity of 60 students and a departmental library containing 200 books.
