General Medicine

General Information about the department

General Medicine department is the major pillar in the functioning of Hassan  institute of medical sciences.  It was started in the year 2006.

Department of Medicine is a tertiary care providing Department, catering to patients with simple fever to complicated cases requiring ICU care. We see around 300 patients in outpatient department from 9 -4 pm and attend emergencies round the clock. Specialty clinics are also part of outpatient care. We have fully equipped intensive cardiac and respiratory units.

We the department of general medicine successfully hosted KAPICON in 2012.

The department imparts education to both undergraduate medical (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD, General Medicine) students with the vision of making better physicians to serve the society. Our department has succeded in securing 8 postgraduate seats in 2020.

General medicine department being the main pillar of working hard in fighting against the covid pandemic and succeded in the battle .

We undertake the healthschemes , hold the first position in state to treat patients under ABRK Scheme.
