ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಪರಿಚಯ:-

ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವಿಭಾಗವು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಬಾಯಿ, ಮುಖ, ದವಡೆ, ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಇತರೇ ಭಾಗಗಳ ರಚನೆ, ರೋಗ ಪತ್ತೆ/ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವಿಕೆ/ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮೂಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶವೆನೆಂದರೆ, ರೋಗಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು, ಮೂಲ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಖಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕಾಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ದಂತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ದಂತ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುವುದು. ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9 ರಿಂದ ಸಂಜೆ 4ರವರೆಗೆ (ಓಪಿಡಿ) ಹೊರರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಪಾಸಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹೊರರೋಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸುಮಾರು 15000. ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನುರಿತ, ಪರಿಣಿತ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ದಂತ ವೈದ್ಯರ ತಂಡವು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ ವಿಶೇಷ ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಿಕಲ ಚೇತನರಿಗೂ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಹಾಸನ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾದಾಗಿನಿಂದಲು ದಂತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದೆ. ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು, ಟ್ಯುಟೋರಿಯಲ್, ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಲಿನಿಕಲ್ ತರಬೇತಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಲ್ಲಿನ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ಮೂಲ ತತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದು ಖಾಸಗಿ ದಂತ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ ದಂತ ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಅಂತರ ಕಾಲೇಜು / ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ಕ್ಲಿನಿಲ್ ಪೋಸ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ರೀತಿಯ ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪರೂಪದ ರೋಗಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸವಾಲಿನ ಪಠ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಲು, ಹೊಸ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಲನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹಲ್ಲಿನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಲು ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಇಲಾಖೆ ಬದ್ದವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮೌಖಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಸಲು, ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಯಿಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ವಿಭಾಗವು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಮೌಖಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಈ ಜಾಲತಾಣವು “ಜಗತ್ತಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಜಾಲ(World Wide Web Consortium -W3C)” ಮತ್ತು ವೆಬ್ ಕಂಟೆಂಟ್ ಅಕ್ಸೆಸಿಬಿಲಿಟಿ ಗೈಡ್‌ಲೈನ್(WCAG) ಹಂತ 2.0 ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ದೃಷ್ಟಿದೌರ್ಬಲ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿದವರು JAWS, NVDA, SAFA, Supernova and Window-Eyes ನಂತಹ ಮುಂತಾದ ಪರದೆ ವಾಚಕ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಜಾಲತಾಣದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಧ್ವನಿ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಈ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೆ ವಾಚಕ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಸರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
